Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Watched a beautiful movie made in 1970ies. Flock, Jonathan Seagull... The Teacher.
Just Marine was made up in movie because there was Sullivan in the book.
She (in the movie) said: I love who you are, Jonathan.
He (in the book): "Sullivan Seagull laughed in spite of himself. "You crazy bird,"
he said kindly. "If anybody can show someone on the ground how to see a thousand miles, it will be Jonathan Livingston Seagull." He looked at the sand. "Good-bye, Jon, my friend." "Good bye, Sully. We'll meet again." In the book they never met again...
JL love was not just for a girl. He taught to Fletcher: You have to practice and see the real gull, the good in every one of them, and to help them see it in themselves. That's what I mean by love. It's fun, when you get the knack of it.

Here is the book wrote by an US army pilot who seems to have a very memorable teacher John Livingston (according to dedication at the end of the book). Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach
